New MVTS V2.1.6 Ready for Release

July 29, 2003

A new MVTS version is due for release on July 28, 2003. It offers added reliability and simpler administration. The enhanced functionality includes:

RADIUS LINK REDUNDANCY

Now the system can be configured to switch over to a failover server in case the primary RADIUS server fails to respond with acknowledgement of packets receipt. The feature adds to overall dependability of the system.

ADVANCED CDRS

New CDRs are more informative and provide more call details. The updated CDR includes the names of the records containing the description of the originating and terminating gateway, and the dialpeer selected for call routing. The enhanced format offers detailed traffic statistics allowing identification of the most frequently used gateways and best termination routes.

AUTOMATED LOG HANDLING

Automated procedures of managing the overall size and storage time for the runtime journals (debug logs) have been introduced to facilitate the system administration routines. Significant reduction of manual work involved in record-keeping and disk-space control eases the administration chores and eliminates the risk of data loss due to eventual disk overflow.

STATISTICS GATEWAY-WISE

The new MVTS release enables you to view and keep the statistics for each individual originating and terminating gateway. The statistical data include current and maximum number of calls, overall amount of calls, total time, ASR (average successful rate), ACD (average call duration), etc. A similar feature is introduced for dial peers. The user gets the ability to set a statistics collection period and store the data in a file for subsequent analysis and optimization of the VoIP traffic routes.
