MERA optimizes MVTS administration tasks through introduction of a graphic user interface

MERA Networks, Inc. has released the Installation & Operation Guide for better understanding the essential principles of the MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch operation and use. The guide offers many illustrative examples and provides a detailed description of the MVTS installation and configuration procedures. The document will be particularly helpful for users of the MVTS demo.
The Installation & Operation Guide contains hardware requirements and configuration instructions for the Linux and FreeBSD OS's that provide prerequisites for successful operation of the session border controller It describes the most typical scenarios for connecting gateways and gatekeepers to the MVTS, which are illustrated with case-specific settings quoted from configuration files:
- two-gateway connection (Cisco AS5300 - VocalTec)
- four-gateway connection (with specified route paths and dial plans)
- gateway and ATA186 connection (behind the NAT router)
- connection to the RADIUS server
- IP phone connection (illustrated by the NetMeeting)
- connection of two gatekeepers
The document also includes a chapter devoted to the MVTS Manager, the intuitive graphical interface, and provides handy tips for its installation and usage.
