MVTS: a Reliable and Effective Way for Interconnection with VoIP eXchange

March 16, 2005

MERA Systems and VoIP eXchange complete product compatibility testing.

The test results have demonstrated full compatibility of MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch (MVTS) and the VoIP eXchange clearing house.

The companies performed their first compatibility testing in early 2003. Since then MVTS is the recommended solution for carriers willing to interconnect to VoIP eXchange for transit switching of H.323 traffic.

Now this cooperation has expanded to the SIP space, as MERA has considerably enhanced its SIP features. The new capabilities developed over the past year include two-way conversion between SIP and H.323 standards, dynamic registration of SIP endpoints, and the ’SIP stateful proxy’ functionality. All the above capabilities make MERA’s MVTS the ideal solution for easy end effective interconnection of SIP and H.323 equipment from different vendors.

VoIP eXchange is the first Russian company to join the ’MERA Friendly’ partnership program. The program is intended for Tier 1 VoIP carriers and clearing houses whose customers use MVTS for interconnection with their VoIP traffic exchange platforms.

The list of MERA Friendly partners includes the world’s largest international carriers such as Teleglobe and iBasis.
