New MVTS 3.1.3 release: Unprecedented Control over Carrier Network and VoIP Traffic

MERA Systems announces the release of the new version of MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch

MVTS version 3.1.3 includes several new routing and load balancing capabilities. All of the latest improvements are aimed at helping our customers enhance the system reliability and increase the efficiency of VoIP traffic management.

The new release features the N+1 redundancy scheme. In normal operation overall traffic is evenly distributed between one main and N back-up servers. If a server fails, the calls are automatically redistributed between the remaining servers without compromising the System's performance. This capability allows the carrier to operate with due regard to the geography of the carrier's Points of Presence (PoPs) and ensures normal network functioning even at peak call-flow hours.

Another important improvement of the new MVTS version is the possibility to configure several SIP-HIT signaling protocol and codec conversion modules in the description of termination equipment. The feature allows traffic balancing among SIP-HIT modules with consideration for the server's current load and computing power.
