Architecture of MVTS II

MVTS II consists of two functional subsystems: Traffic Manager — the nest of the system's artificial intelligence which implements the carrier's business logics and Traffic Switch which provides a single entry point into the network, processes H.323 and SIP requests, distributes load between call processing modules, handles VoIP calls under control of Traffic Manager and generates call session data.

Traffic Switch incorporates four types of functional nodes: Load balancer/H.323 Gatekeeper/SIP Registrar, Signaling Node, Media Node and Management Node. Traffic Switch contains several functional nodes of each type which back up one another to ensure 99.999% system dependability. Workload distribution precludes equipment idling as all the modules are always kept busy.

Distributed modular architecture makes extending service to new locations quick and cost-effective while protocol agnostic Traffic Manager ensures future-proof interoperability of the system.
