Traffic Routing
The MVTS Pro intrinsic routing mechanism allows a variety of traffic direction policies based on a diversity of parameters (ASR, gateway/route load, day of week, time of day, etc.) External routing is ensured by the RADIUS API which interfaces with third-party routing and billing systems.
Flexible Approach to Proxy Mode
MVTS Pro serves as a single entry point on the carrier's network and allows carriers to choose the necessary proxy mode for individual gateways or destinations. The full proxy mode (both signaling and media proxy) enables seamless interaction with external gateways and bridges between home and partner networks. The signaling proxy mode allows MVTS Pro owners to channel media flows to bandwidths with higher capacity which enhances the efficiency of the system's switching resources use. Flexible approach to proxy mode also contributes to optimization of bandwidth consumption while keeping up top-level fault-tolerance and network security.
Seamless Interoperability
The solution supports kernel level SIP/H.323 translation and performs codec conversion, which guarantees MVTS Pro owners excellent quality of service and seamless connectivity with partner and corporate networks.
Gatekeeper/SIP-Registrar Functionality
MVTS Pro can operate either as a Gateway, or as a Gatekeeper/SIP registrar depending on the partner network architecture. The functionality enables carriers to interact with partner networks built around whatever equipment.
Number Transformation
MVTS Pro enables regexp-based number transformation patterns and rules to satisfy various peering partner numbering plan requirements. Number translation is performed both on the ingress and egress call legs. The MERA solution features differentiated number transformation for routing and billing reports and conceals calling party number.
Operation and QoS Analysis
MVTS Pro provides carriers with elaborate analysis tools enabling real-time call dynamics monitoring (ASR, ACD, disconnect codes etc.) and resolution of QoS problems. MVTS Pro allows the system operator to view call statistics by originators, dialpeers, destinations, gateways or terminating equipment. MVTS Pro enables remote monitoring of the system operation under SNMP.
MVTS Pro monitors QoS parameters throughout the VoIP network, detects performance degradation and routes calls around the network portions with unacceptable QoS characteristics, thereby providing SLA assurance.
The MERA solution provides the following data by gateways and dialpeers:
- Average answer seizure ratio (ASR)
- Average call duration (ACD)
- Average post dial delay (PDD)
- Average setup-connect delay (SCD)
- Average quality of service (QoS)
- Average number of calls per second (CPS)
- Maximum concurrent calls
- Total received/sent calls duration
- Total number of processed/successful/failed calls
- Processed calls arranged by completion codes
- Received/sent traffic volumes
MVTS Pro allows carriers to set various reporting rules:
- Time of reports sending
- Period of updating data
- Period of storing the statistics data
Accounting Capabilities
MVTS Pro acts as a single point for CDR collection and provides exhaustive information for detailed call analysis and preliminary debugging (Call ID, Disconnect Codes, Connect Time, Elapsed Time, and more). MVTS Pro can be integrated with external billing systems via RADIUS API interface. User authorization in billing systems is performed according to MVTS Pro own data.
Load Balancing
MVTS Pro allows for dynamic re-distribution of the workload to ensure the most efficient use of the switching capacity. In case one of the system elements fails, the licenses of the failed component are automatically distributed among the remaining healthy elements.
